BO's politics of change

My a**…. here’s BO the candidate on his “politics of change”:

“We can no longer accept a process that doles out earmarks based on a member of Congress’ seniority, rather than the merit of the project.”

Here’s BO’s today on his precious health care reform… his White House chief spokesman explained all the recent kick backs (aka bribes) given to Senators (such as Ben Nelson, Mary Landrieu, Chris Dodd, Bernie Sanders, and many others) on the fence about health care as follows:

“Every senator uses whatever leverage they have to help their states. That’s the way it has been. That’s the way it will always be.”

I don’t know what’s sadder – that so many people were gullible enough to believe this guy in the beginning or that some of them still do. “Yes, we can all have cheap health care, high standards of living, affordable half million dollar homes, big screen TVs, cheap transportation and green energy AND save money too!”. There’s some saying, can’t quite remember, about when something sounds too good to be true….? Ah whatever, pass me my bailout money and free health care!

I feel bad for my kids… they’re the generation that’s probably going to have the painfully realize the federal government (the same one that under the guise of the USPS lost 3.8 BILLION dollars last year alone putting envelopes in mailboxes) cannot spend a TRILLION on health care and somehow have it end up saving us money. They’re the ones that are going to end up living in a province of China when the people financing all of our drunken sailor style spending call in their debts.

Sigh……

Once in a lifetime…

November 25th, 2009 No comments

Been awhile since I blogged so what the hell, another post while I’m here.

Another Turkey Day is here and time really does fly as they say…. been working at ESPN and living in CT for 2+ years now, James just turned 1 a week or two ago James turns the big 1 and my oldest Ryan is deep in the midst of the “terrible threes” (not to be confused with the non-existent terrible twos) wherein he often alternates between incessant whining and violent knocking over of things until being sent to his room. The bank just bought a great house they let my beautiful family and I live… bday #34 for me is looming close…. I can honestly say I never considered that I would someday be this age :-)

Think this classic pretty much sums it up…. this is not my beautiful life…

Let the celebratory tire burning begin!

November 25th, 2009 No comments

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I for one am adding one more thing to the festivities…. burning a few tires in celebration!

Celebrate Good Times!!!

You all remember “global warming”… that’s the one where leftist tree huggers blame evil America for killing the planet and make wild speculations (framed as hard scientific “facts”) about the 4.5 billion year old earth’s climate based on the (maybe) 200 years we’ve actually been measuring it.

I say remember b/c some of the foremost “global warming experts” have been caught red handed colluding to fabricate evidence of warming and suppress their own data showing the earth has actually started cooling!!!! The dominoes in this massive fraud are starting to fall… the obvious logical answer that we don’t truly understand how the earth’s climate cycles works (we know there was an ice age millions of years ago so clearly there has been global warming before fossil fuels no?) and, in fact, much of the data shows the earth is actually once again COOLING is starting to be proven to be the right one.

And while it’s great to see these Al Gore worshipping nut jobs exposed, it’s also scary to be reminded of how effective and pervasive the old marxist MO of taking over a “respected” organization to lie, cheat and slander anyone who dares oppose can be.

ClimateGate may be biggest scientific scandal ever

NFL 2009

September 12th, 2009 No comments

NFL LogoThe end of summer is always bittersweet… September always leaves me wishing I’d had more time to enjoy summer (especially since it rained half the summer this year) but taking solace in the return of football Sundays and 12 hours on the couch.

I totally bombed my NFL predictions last year picking the Cowboys over Jags… neither made the playoffs.

But this year will be better… I can feel it. Ladies and gentlemen, place your bets.

NFC
East = Giants (11-5), Eagles (9-7), Redskins (7-9), Cowboys (7-9)
North = Bears (11-5), Vikings (9-7), Packers (8-8), Lions (2-14)
South = Panthers (12-4), Saints (11-5), Falcons (9-7), Bucs (4-12)
West = Cardinals (9-7), Seahawks (8-8), 49ers (6-10), Rams (3-13)

AFC
East = Patriots (11-5), Dolphins (7-9), Jets (7-9), Bills (6-10)
North = Steelers (14-2), Ravens (8-8), Browns (8-8), Bengals (6-10)
South = Colts (12-4), Titans (11-5), Texans (9-7), Jaguars (6-10)
West = Chargers (11-5), Raiders (6-10), Broncos (4-12), Chiefs (4-12)

Playoffs
Bears over Saints in NFC championship, Steelers over Colts in AFC

Super Bowl
Hate to say it but Pittsburgh repeats… Steelers 23 Bears 13

Keurig has made me a better person

July 21st, 2009 No comments

While I’m on the subject of morning fixes , let me also say that not only has the Keurig instant coffee maker I got for father’s day increased my caffeine dependency, it has made me a better person.

Best gift I ever got

If I had to feed a 3 year old + an 8 month old AND clean the coffee pot & filter, measure the grinds, etc before getting my fix, I’d almost certainly be beating both of these kids right now.

W/o instant coffee

Now where is the damn dog and why isn’t she eating all these cheerios James threw on the floor?

Tough call

July 21st, 2009 No comments

Can’t figure out who’s nastier – me before the morning coffee or my 8 month old James before his morning bottle. Happiest baby ever except for waking up and going to bed… damn does he get PO’d. Also can’t figure out why James insists on waking up at 6 am no matter what time I go to bed.

James after he's had his morning fix   Kid's lucky he doesn't look like me

Daycare

June 6th, 2009 No comments

While I’m on here killing time, I’d like to point out that there are no bigger germ factories on the face of the earth than day care centers. My two kids have been “institutionalized” for a month or two now (and only part time 2 or 3 days a week at that) and both of them have brought home some different bug every week so far I think.

The ripoff prices they charge you to lock your kids in a broom closet for the day should at least include one of these for each kid:

Dead dog slow

June 6th, 2009 No comments

So my web host Yahoo forced me to switch to using Wordpress to manage this awesome blog. I gather Wordpress is what all the cool kids use to manage their blogs and I’ve always wanted to be cool so maybe this will help.

But while Wordpress is pretty slick, it is also dead dog slow. Only time will tell but it’s so bad it may drop my prolific blog rate of 8 posts a year to just 7. I’m far too busy and important to wait longer for this stuff to load.
