Imagine this scenario… the new supreme court nominee is white. Then let’s reverse “white” and “hispanic” in her qoute, i.e.:
“I would hope that a wise white woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a hispanic male who hasn’t lived that life.”
Think our imaginary Sally Smith would still be getting nominated? But it’s cool for Sonia Sotomayor.

A good read at the Wall Street Journal… to hell with rule of law – what does your interpretation of the constitution matter when you have the “richness of experience” of growing up hispanic?!?!?
